High-quality dock products for new DC Scotch & Soda

Scotch & Soda's new distribution center at De President business park in Hoofddorp is distinguished by a high quality and future-proof design, with great attention to greenery and sustainability. The loading and unloading techniques of Stertil Dock Products fit in perfectly with this. Commissioned by DIJKHAM bouw, the international specialist in dock equipment was responsible for the levellers, shelters, dock bumpers, wheel gates and gates. 

"Based on Minerva Development's specifications, we selected the best fitting products for this project," says Herman Cohen, Sales Manager at Stertil Dock Products. "To ensure a solid connection between the loading floor of a truck and warehouse floor at all times and to enable smooth and safe goods transport, our dock levellers meet the highest safety requirements. Moreover, the levellers are made of high-quality materials. The sophisticated construction with a closed rear hinge, perfectly sealed sides as well as a flexible letterbox seal at the front ensures that air leaks are kept to a minimum and vermin are kept out of the premises."

Levellers of 2.25 meters wide

The chosen leveller width in this project, at 2.25 meters, is larger than usual in distribution country, said Cohen, who advocates that more DCs follow this sizing. "A major advantage of this leveller width is better sealing when the truck is docked. In addition, the wide leveller offers extra comfort as well as safety during the final loading - when the last pallets are driven in or out of the truck."

All the commercial doors are finished in RAL 1036 (pearl gold), he says, extending the high-quality look of the building to the loading and unloading areas as well.
