Innovative IP door communication system for Het Dok, Amsterdam. Fast, flexible and 100% pluggable

With the completion of Het Dok, the rugged NDSM harbor area in Amsterdam-North has gained a robust and striking new residential complex. Het Dok offers space for 449 dwellings, divided over three towers and a connecting low-rise. Brick facades and concrete grids give the building a sturdy appearance, while the high-quality interior finishing guarantees optimal living comfort. The innovative IP door communication system supplied by Vercoma fits in perfectly with this.

Because of the large number of homes in Het Dok, Vercoma immediately selected the iPlusBUS system.

"As early as the beginning of 2018, we received a request from ETB Cas Sombroek, for a thorough and reliable door communication system," says Arjan Schouten, Manager Sales & Service at Vercoma. "Because of the large number of homes in Het Dok, we immediately selected our iPlusBUS system. This 100% pluggable system from Beoview can be connected plug-and-play. Moreover, residents reap the benefits of future-proof, very powerful and flexible door communication technology. In cooperation with ETB Cas Sombroek we have fine-tuned the system. For example, the T-switches (branch blocks) in the homes are short-circuit protected. At our assembly department in Wormerveer all system components were engineered, configured and programmed. Here we also completely assembled and prewired the mounting cabinets for the central facilities room."

All 449 homes are equipped with a 7″ BEOVIEW7 Lite-S monitor; a user-friendly touchscreen monitor with an intuitive graphical user interface (GUI), says Schouten. "If desired, this monitor can be expanded by the residents themselves with a BWCM Wifi click-in module, so they can also receive calls on their smartphones."

Because the central entrances of The Dock have a day/night lock, a total of nine BEOTOUCH-C touchscreen panels were mounted. Six at the exterior doors and three at the interior doors in the lobby. "Thanks to the use of industrial stainless steel 316L, the panels fit in perfectly with the tough and robust look of the building," Schouten said. "Robust are also the impact resistance and weather resistance of the panels. As a result, the unique appearance of each panel is as future-proof as its functions. One interesting functionality, for example, is the possibility for letter insertion (A through Z). On the existing TT Vasumweg 32-40, 449 apartments (and thus addresses) had to be added at once, which these panels make possible without any problems. A software link also guarantees easy fine-tuning of the system in the future. Even remotely."
