Before the start of each project, Raadsma BV’s project office records all doors in a door log. This log specifies the type, location, and installation instructions for each door. “This makes preparation for every project very straightforward, which makes the work very enjoyable,” says Gerton de Hoog, project coordinator at Raadsma BV.
The doors at Lauwers College are mostly HPL (high-pressure laminate) interior doors, supplemented by a number of veneer doors that were given a greywash finish. The door frames were digitally measured, and the doors were machined using a CNC machine. “That’s often faster than traditional planing. For larger projects, this method is preferred, but we still do both,” says De Hoog. With more than twenty projects currently underway, a job involving over a hundred doors is not uncommon. “It ranges from small quantities to projects with three to four hundred doors.”
A dedicated project manager remains the point of contact until completion. “The collaboration with Hesco Bouw is a success for both sides. When you have that strong connection, you want to take the construction project to the next level together. And when that happens, we all get excited,” says De Hoog. Another joint project is already underway.
Raadsma is growing. Its services are expanding to include, for example, anchor plans and airtight construction. And so the headquarters is also being expanded. The first pile was recently driven into the ground. “We’re really growing in what we do,” says De Hoog proudly. “It’s just
”Fun job."
