Thin fire-resistant glass with high insulation value

On the market from early next year

With today's energy rates and building requirements, the demand for well-insulating materials is enormous. If you look for good insulating, thin glass, you quickly end up with Fineo vacuum glass. AGC Glass Europe will launch a fire-resistant version on the market early next year. Extra thin, well-insulating and fire-resistant glass: Pyrobel Fineo.

AGC Glass Europe produces and processes flat glass for the construction industry. Its Fineo vacuum glass combines beautiful aesthetics with great energy performance. The glass is only 8 mm thick and can therefore be installed in existing frames or new windows and curtain walls. At the same time, its insulating performance is comparable to triple glazing with a thickness of 40 mm. This glass will be marketed as a fire-resistant product in early 2023. The combination of high insulation value and fire-resistant performance is unique because the glass simply fits into a standard frame. Jan Liebeton, Pyrobel fire-resistant glass product manager at AGC: "The glass easily achieves a U-value of 0.5. AGC developed Fineo itself, so we are the only company that can produce it. It looks like normal, single glass, but has special properties." Especially for older buildings where the appearance must be preserved, this glass is extremely suitable. You don't have to modify the frame and yet you can achieve better insulation value and fire resistance. Liebeton: "We have had official tests done for the fire-resistant Pyrobel Fineo glass. The reports for this are now being written, so that the product can be on the market in early 2023."
