The advance of the colored project tile

The tile that always fits

The demand for colored project tiles is increasing. For social housing, schools, healthcare facilities and sports complexes, among others, people are increasingly looking for an affordable aesthetic alternative to standard wall and floor finishes. Maxus Ceramics, KeraStone's project tile label, lends itself ideally to this.

"Searching and finding the right tile can be a tricky puzzle. Size, color, quality and price have to be right. And then the tiles also have to be available on time. That's really no longer a given in today's market," says architectural consultant Cindy Berk of KeraStone. "The Maxus tiles come in the common sizes 15×15, 15×30 and 20×40 cm. This allows us to really deliver on what we promise: Maxus, the tile that always fits. We also get that back from our customers who really appreciate the solid quality, competitive pricing and good backorderability."

For healthcare, education and sports

Berk: "Because we are continuously improving and expanding the collection, we appeal to an ever larger group of architects and clients. We are proud of that. How great is it that we are allowed to 'color' more and more schools, healthcare facilities and sports buildings with our tiles?" Leonie Borgerink of Borgerink Architects is one of those architects and explains her choice: "Maxus' wide choice of colors is very pleasing, because just the right use of color gives structure and grip in a healthcare building."

New colors and designs

In recent years, Maxus Ceramics' collection has expanded greatly. The latest addition is the color expansion of the MX40 series. With the arrival of these new colors, any project can now feature 20×40 tiles in warm hues such as thyme, suede and cotto. KeraStone also added the Evoke series. This tile, available in 10×10 cm and 10×40 cm, has an artisan look in contemporary colors.

Sustainability

Maxus is also fully in tune with contemporary developments in the area of sustainability. The factory where Maxus is produced has an EPD certificate and is proactively reducing waste streams to a minimum. Moreover, its energy needs are met with solar energy through its own panels.
