The E-installation in Hydra was constructed by Van den Pol Elektrotechniek. "In every project with Heembouw, we make a pull planning at the start of the BIM process," says project manager Johnny Gielen. "This makes it clear what we expect from each other. Timely coordination prevents clashes with other installations. Furthermore, there is a lot of freedom to model as we see fit."
DC-Hydra can be split in two. "There are two transformers and each building section has a main distribution box plus associated sub-distribution boxes. The LED lighting in the general areas is switched with a KNX system, the offices have motion sensors. We install this as standard on projects like this." Van den Pol also installed charging poles and installed power supplies for the barrier system and a traffic light system. "This ensures safe traffic flow around the distribution center."
The current shortage of materials also had an impact on this project. "The delivery of steel was delayed, which placed a heavy demand on our flexibility in planning and execution." Moving quickly was crucial, Gielen said. "This again demonstrated the value of the long-term partnership with Heembouw. Even when things get exciting, we can depend on each other."
