BioFreshi Produce is the link between grower, organic producer and customer. The company started eight years ago in Breda and was now in need of larger premises. Roma Netherlands began installing the sandwich panels, interior walls, ceilings, refrigerated sliding doors and refrigerated lift doors for the new building in October 2022. This included a refrigerated shipping area, indoor cold stores and rising rooms.
Initial contacts were made as early as early 2020. To arrive at a good design, they worked together as a construction team. All parties were able to think along and provide their input. That made the construction go smoothly and the end result fully meet the client's expectations. "In a construction team you achieve more than if you only look at the price in a tender. As a company, you yourself have influence on the design and can vouch for it. Because of our early input, we also encountered few surprises during the execution of this project," says Bart Hultermans, construction sales consultant at Roma.
Roma Products produced the sliding and lifting doors, some of which even measured 3 x 4.5 meters. They were then assembled on site by Roma Projects. Panels 150 mm thick were chosen for good insulation and sufficient stability. These were considerable sizes, says Hultermans. "One cell block consists of twelve refrigerated cells almost thirteen meters high. We also realized six row rooms. The project has just been completed. We were able to offer a complete product from production to assembly. That's our strength, we build everything in-house."
The contacts with client Jansen-Dongen were very pleasant from the beginning, according to Hultermans. Roma had worked with construction company Vrolijk before. In combination with working in a construction team, this made the project a great success. Hultermans: "The building is in a high-profile location and has a good appearance. The result is very nice."
