Processability and quality come together in new construction DPG Media

In the spring of 2024, DPG Media will move into one of the largest hybrid wooden office buildings in the world. Upon completion, the striking new headquarters in Amsterdam-OverAmstel must meet the BREEAM-NL 'Excellent' criteria. Following on from the mechanical and sanitary installations, the electrical engineering also contributes to this. The complete electrical installation in 'Mediavaert' was commissioned by BESIX Nederland and realized by SDR Elektrotechniek, which opts for modularity and efficient work packages wherever possible.

SDR Elektrotechniek's scope includes a huge range of techniques. From medium-voltage installations to transformers, main distribution systems, emergency power generator and UPSs, busbar trunking systems, sub-distribution systems, light and power installations, cable support systems, (emergency) lighting fixtures, data and telephone installations, access control, intrusion and CCTV installations, grounding and lightning protection installations, potential equalization, fire alarm and evacuation installations and PV panels. "For example, the PV panels and energy-efficient LED lighting with daylight and motion sensors provide important BREEAM points," says André Praat, Projects Team Leader at SDR Elektrotechniek. "In addition, waste flows on construction are efficiently managed. The choice of prefabrication fits in perfectly with this."

Because of the high sustainability ambition, desired flexibility and short lead time in this project, SDR Elektrotechniek works wherever possible with modular installations and efficient work packages. As an example, Praat mentions the data installations, for which the infrastructure is delivered completely pre-assembled, coded and tested. "We only need to place the right cables in the right cable routes, after which DPG Media is assured of a perfectly functioning installation. Now and in the future. This is how processability, quality and reliability come together in numerous areas."
