As with all previous Futura houses, Van den Pol Elektrotechniek is a partner for Van Vliet Bouw B.V. at the complex in Ter Aar. "Here, too, we are responsible for the complete electrical installation," says project manager John Gielen. "Our package also includes the certified fire alarm system, data cabling, burglar alarm, CAI and PV installation."
All exterior walls and part of the interior walls are prefabricated prepared, including wall sockets and piping. "These only need to be connected on site. That saves valuable time." However, the prefab process does require extra attention in the preliminary stages. "And because of the fixed ceilings, you never get to anything later," says assembler Sebastiaan van der Lijn. That's why 100% requires confidence in the person doing the work. "That's all right here. And I'm not just saying that because Sebastiaan is standing next to me," laughs Gielen.
The construction partners of the Futura houses have been working together for more than a decade. "An ideal situation. With always a different team you never become a champion, we often say at Van den Pol. That is why there is a strong preference for permanent partner and comaker partnerships. Not only the companies, but also many employees know each other well because of this. Half a word is enough for us."
Because of the previous joint experiences, successive projects are running more and more smoothly. "It also helps that the basic design of the Futura houses is similar each time. By and large, we have made a project like this together many times before. This makes for faster delivery and a better end result." There is no question of an automatic pilot. "On the contrary. We remain keen on opportunities to improve further. Not only at the Futura houses, but also within Van den Pol where improvement teams work structurally on optimization."
