Generalis Bedrijfsbouw is a design-build company with a focus on corporate housing. "We support clients in their search for the right solution for their issue, after which we take care of the entire process from design and engineering to realization," says co-owner Albert Holsappel. "The emphasis here is on the preliminary process. After all, the eventual realization of a building is the result of a well thought-out plan."
Generalis Bedrijfsbouw is progressive in the field of integral construction and specializes in precast concrete, PGS 15 spaces and hybrid construction. These specialties recently came to fruition in the expansion of Marine Care in Rotterdam's Botlek. Marine Care is a manufacturer and supplier of tank cleaning products primarily for the maritime sector. "Because of the further expansion and extension of its activities, expansion of the current location from 2017 was necessary," Holsappel says. "We were involved at an early project stage, working with HDK Architects and the client to come up with a feasible implementation design. As an integral builder, we were not only responsible for realization of all structural work and the total finishing package, but also for the design and implementation coordination of both building-related and process installations. In close cooperation with all parties involved, the project was delivered just before the summer vacations. Thus, this project fits exactly within the expertise of Generalis."
The hazardous materials (PGS15) space for Marine Care involves an indoor space of over 500 m2 and with an average height of 11.5 meters, Holsappel says. "The choice of precast concrete was fixed from the outset. This is because precast concrete is excellent for meeting the high fire resistance requirements, without having to make all kinds of additional provisions for this - as with steel construction. In addition, a concrete building is more robust, extremely durable and has a higher investment value and greater accumulating capacity."
Generalis Bedrijfsbouw is led by the five experienced professionals Ruud Vogelaar, Bart Dekkers, Rick Sterk, William Holvoet and Albert Holsappel. They share the vision that building is a means and not an end in itself. But also that one should always think from the practical use (from the inside out). The five colleagues are complementary in every facet of the profession and have broad and extensive experience. Construction projects are in very good hands with them. Due to the expansion of the order book, the team was recently expanded with Nikki Broeken as BIM modeler and Tonny Cooijmans in the role of senior work planner.
Once again this year, Generalis Bedrijfsbouw was able to complete beautiful projects for regular clients such as Mammoet Ferry Transport, Neele-VAT Transport and Dudok. In 2024, Generalis will realize, among other things, various multi-tenant buildings, business premises and a store interior for a renowned home furnishing company. The future of Generalis looks bright!
