One-stop shop for construction industry in the Netherlands

Jongeneel has been the address for anyone building or doing odd jobs for 226 years. "Started in 1797 as a lumber yard, we now have a wide range of wood, board, doors and frames, roofs, tools, hardware, paint, glues and sealants," explains Richard Waanders of Jongeneel. "Two years ago, moreover, an in-house facade concept for certified facades was added, followed by a wide range of building materials. Waanders is branch manager of the Jongeneel branches in Rotterdam and Schiedam. A fun and challenging position, he says, because construction is booming in the region. "As a result of the energy transition, large numbers of homes are currently being renovated and transformed. For example, commissioned by housing corporations. We support the executing parties in this, for example, by supplying custom wood, board and building materials." 

'We do it together'

"We have an extensive range of facade materials, insulation materials and seals, which have a positive effect on the insulation value of homes as well as on the comfort of their occupants," says Onno van Schaik, Account Manager at Jongeneel Rotterdam and Schiedam. "In a trusted partnership with the contractor and our manufacturers/suppliers, we like to look for the right solutions for each project, explicitly taking into account the desired Rc and Rd values. But also with the thickness of the insulation material, so that as little living space as possible is taken away." 

Efficient logistics, minimal inconvenience

"Key issues in renovation projects are efficient logistics and nuisance mitigation," Waanders knows. "Many renovation projects are carried out in an inhabited state. Then it's nice as a contractor to be able to work cleanly on site and not have to saw, drill and mill materials to size. The extensive CNC machining department of Jongeneel Services is happy to take this work off your hands, which also saves on execution time. Moreover, we can deliver materials combined and packaged, at any desired location, time and height (up to 30 meters)." Van Schaik: "In terms of sustainability, we aim for the lowest possible footprint per transport, which we can also demonstrate. We are familiar with quality marks such as FSC^®PEFC and STIP. And we don't turn our hand to BREEAM and LEED projects either."

Also for new construction projects

In addition to the renovation and transformation projects, the high-rise construction projects in Rotterdam and Schiedam are springing up like mushrooms. Jongeneel is also happy to contribute to these new homes, with an extensive range of wood, board, facade and building materials that meet the new construction requirements of the Dutch Building Decree. If desired, all materials can be delivered including performance reports. For example, for the compilation of the mandatory completion file, in accordance with the new Building Quality Assurance Act (Wkb).
