Platform on new construction, renovation, restoration and transformation
For the construction of the new Academy Ten secondary school in Utrecht, J.M. van Delft & zn. and WAM&VanDuren Bouwgroep joined forces. Steel frames and doors with various degrees of fire resistance were supplied and assembled for this project: a solid basis for a safe learning environment.
WAM&VanDuren Bouwgroep and J.M. van Delft & zn. are no strangers to each other. Both companies have previously worked successfully together on various projects, including the impressive Schoenenmuseum in Waalwijk. The Academy Ten project was recently completed and involved the supply and installation of steel frames and doors in various fire resistance classes, creating a safe and sustainable learning environment.
A particular challenge during the project was transporting the steel window frames to the upper floors. Danny van Spaandonk, project manager at J.M. van Delft & zn. explains, "We delivered all the window frames via supply scaffolding and lifted them upstairs with our truck-mounted crane. This is because some of the glass parts, intended for the frames on the parapets, weigh 180 kilograms each."
With a total area of approximately 600 m2 of J.M. van Delft-quality space, Academy Ten is now fully equipped for the future. "This project is not only a feat of craftsmanship, but also an example of teamwork between all parties involved."
