Boundless bending: craftsmanship in aluminum and steel

Rahe Buigwerken, headed by Raoul Henderickx, has developed over 28 years into an indispensable player in the world of bent aluminum and steel profiles. From skyscrapers in Dubai to iconic Dutch projects like the Cruqiusweg in Amsterdam, Rahe Buigwerken bends with the future.

With a combination of craftsmanship and innovation, Henderickx Rahe grew to become the only specialist in the Netherlands offering high-quality bending techniques for aluminum window frames. The company provides a broad package: not only bending profiles, but also finishing, such as powder coating and full delivery. "Short lines and a direct, customer-oriented approach make the difference," Henderickx says. "Customers don't get a telephone operator on the line, but have direct contact with me."

"We work for all kinds of companies, at home and abroad, all the way to the desert near Qatar. There we recently worked on a 78-story skyscraper. We also delivered bending work for Boeiing, for example." The company works closely with Kersten Group in Wanssum. "Kersten Group bends the heavy curtain wall profiles, so when we have an order like that, they do it. And vice versa, they come to us when something needs to be done with frame profiles."

Challenging projects

Although Rahe Buigwerken is active in various sectors - from automotive industry and public transport to lighting and the NS - its focus is on facade construction. Henderickx: "Here we make the impossible possible: curved aluminum window frames in every conceivable shape. From round windows and doors to complete facade constructions. You can't imagine the shape and we've made it."

In the Netherlands, Rahe Buigwerken works mainly on large projects, in Belgium, on the contrary, for private home construction. The nicest projects? "Those are projects with just a little bit more challenge, not the standard work. For example, when we had to bend some 570 window frames for an apartment complex on the Cruqiusweg in Amsterdam. Or the De Walvis project in Amsterdam, where 295 small round window frames of only 560 mm in diameter containing an opening sash not only had to fit perfectly, but also had to be able to open and close functionally. That's the kind of project we love doing the most."

"The other day we had the request from a contractor to fit an entire apartment complex in Roosendaal with window frames: both curved and straight window frames," Henderickx said. "We carried this out together with a client of ours. So we not only work closely with facade builders, but also with contractors and architects."

Always keep innovating

Innovation is a constant factor within the company. "Each new profile requires new techniques, and we often experiment until we find the perfect bend. This applies not only to the profiles themselves, but also to finishing techniques such as powder coating, in which we are constantly developing and learning new methods to deliver even better quality."

With 28 years of experience, Rahe Buigwerken has built a solid reputation in the Netherlands and Belgium. Henderickx concludes, "No matter what, the core of Rahe Buigwerken remains the same: flexibility, customer focus and the willingness to always find a solution. I never say, 'we can't do that.' We always look for a solution so that we can. And in fact, we always find that solution."
