Along the A12 motorway, Woerden is getting a new landmark: a seven-story, 125-room Van der Valk Exclusive Hotel. Inside, meanwhile, it's all about precision. Stam Montagebouw was called in for the technical finishing. A logical choice, because this kind of work requires experience, speed and craftsmanship.
Stam Montagebouw has been in the drywall business for 25 years. From ceilings to complete floor furnishings, the team is equipped for projects that need to run smoothly, even when the pressure is high. "Finishing requires logistical flexibility," explains project manager Dimitri Hansen. "We therefore always make sure that the technology is right and the schedule keeps running."
Work began in week 12 of 2025 with the construction of a pilot room. "The architect made a first draft,
Van der Valk looked along and gave feedback. On that basis, we determined the layout and placement of installations," Hansen said. Stam Montagebouw then went to work on the complete finishing of floors 2 through 7. This finishing includes the partition walls between the rooms, the interior walls of the suites and all the corridor areas with associated shafts, insulation and installation cabinets; a total of 2,200 m² of wall space.
The work is being carried out floor by floor, commissioned by Van Omme & De Groot. The construction site is not spacious and on site work is being done with a large crane, which requires logistical ingenuity and keen coordination. "But that very switching between disciplines is part of our way of working. We enjoy it and are good at it," says Hansen.
Stam Montagebouw has already worked for Van Omme & De Groot on several Van der Valk locations. "Those are very nice projects to do," says Hansen. "The finish is high and the buildings are in prime locations."
By now, most of the wall work has been completed and the metal plastering has also been completed. What follows is the finishing of the walls as well as the construction of eighteen suites that are still open. "No final choices have been made for those yet," Hansen says. "But as soon as that is finalized, we will start working on those as well. These are luxury rooms that need extra attention - and they have to be especially future-oriented." Stam Montagebouw will make sure that even the final rooms are like a house when the hotel is completed in January 2026.
