Soundblox acoustic concrete blocks have been a trusted weapon in the fight against noise pollution for years. These acoustic concrete blocks are the ideal solution for acoustic climate control in any space, combining aspects such as sound absorption, sound insulation, and fire resistance in a single stable wall construction (no finishing required). Now there is an important new aspect to consider: CO2-reduction.
Soundblox can also be used as a weapon in the fight against CO2. This is no luxury, considering that concrete is responsible for 10% of total CO2emissions! With the use of new technology, Soundblox is actively contributing to the climate transition, in which ’cement-free’ will ultimately become the norm. And that without compromising on aesthetic design.
Soundblox acoustic concrete blocks have been used for years in rooms with high walls and ceilings, such as sports halls and gyms, due to their robustness and ‘ball resistance’. But they are also used in reception halls, reception areas, school classrooms, corridors and auditoriums, places of worship, theaters, libraries, factories, on facades and in offices, conference rooms, hangars, factories, machine rooms, etc. In addition, due to their weather resistance and robustness, Soundblox acoustic concrete blocks are often used in outdoor applications: along highways, at stations, under viaducts, and in schoolyards. They are also often used in transformer rooms and, in the past, even in nuclear power plants.
Soundblox can also be the solution for acoustic climate control in spaces where, in addition to room acoustics, extreme conditions such as high humidity or chlorine vapors place special demands on the materials. That is why Soundblox are increasingly being used in swimming pools, where these acoustic building blocks are a decorative addition to the interior.
Soundblox acoustic blocks are now also available in a more sustainable, carbonized version. Naturally, this also applies to the regular building blocks that are combined with the acoustic blocks. These new (acoustic) Carbstone building blocks are virtually indistinguishable from traditional concrete and have almost the same properties as traditional concrete, but without the ecological disadvantages.
Carbstone is manufactured using CO2, which is specially extracted from the air and used in production, eliminating the need for cement. Using these blocks can save huge amounts of CO2 reduced and offset! In addition, after installation (outdoors), they continue to absorb CO2 and are becoming increasingly harder, further increasing their load-bearing capacity. Soundless Acoustics wants to use this technology to actively contribute to the climate transition, reducing CO2-neutral construction ultimately becomes the norm.
