Hanging and painting with precision

Wallpapering and painting with precision

The skyline of Eindhoven has been enriched in recent years with a real eye-catcher: Lighthouse. Commissioned by Stam + De Koning Bouw and Visser & Smit Bouw, Schildersbedrijf Van Zanten B.V. carried out the complete wallpapering and painting work here. A major project in which craftsmanship, tight planning and teamwork were key.

“It was clear from the start that this was not going to be a standard job,” says company manager Dennis Oomen. “The size of the job required a structured approach and ironclad planning. In total, we pasted and sprayed over 30,000 m² of glass fabric, performed in both standard pane and fine pane. Applying glass fabric on this scale means working with consistent quality: every job tight, every seam invisible and every wall
evenly finished.”

Comprehensive paint and polish work

Schildersbedrijf Van Zanten B.V. also painted more than 8,500 m² of joinery. “Skirting boards, moldings and other wooden components had to match the overall look of the interior perfectly,” Oomen said. “Clean lines and a durable finish were essential here.” In the corridors, Schildersbedrijf Van Zanten B.V. applied more than 6,000 m² of paintwork in two colors. “This required precision and tight coordination. Especially with color changes and transitions. Straight cut lines and even coverage made the difference here between good and top quality.” Paint work was also extensive. “As many as 6,500 linear meters of window frames and over 600 doors were professionally painted by us. This meant careful sanding, priming and varnishing on schedule so that other construction partners could continue without delay.”

Tight planning

What made this project special was the tight schedule, says Oomen. “In a high-rise project where several disciplines are working simultaneously, everything has to fit together seamlessly. We worked in phases, floor by floor, constantly coordinating with the main contractors and other parties. Flexibility was just as important here as technical knowledge.” Teamwork was the key to success. “With a well-attuned team, we delivered quality under high pressure. Everyone knew their responsibilities and worked with the same goal in mind: a
perfect end result.”

The end result is something to be proud of. “Lighthouse is not only a striking building in Eindhoven, but also a project we look back on with pride. Behind every cleanly finished wall, every perfectly lacquered door and every carefully glued piece of glass fabric is our craftsmanship.” A project of stature. An execution with precision. A result to be proud of.
