The rebuilding of sports and events complex De Schelft in Noordwijkerhout is in full swing. The new swimming pool will be a modern and future-proof facility. Vink Installatie Groep is providing the technical installations for the building.
Vink Installation Group is a family business with more than 100 years of experience. “We are a total installer,” says project engineer Max Vesseur. “Our advisory role is at least as important here. We design and realize the installations and can later also manage and maintain them.”
For swimming pool De Schelft, Vink Installatie Groep is responsible for the heating, ventilation, sanitary installations and electrical engineering, among other things. Together, these installations provide a comfortable and energy-efficient indoor climate. “Only the installation of the swimming pool itself we did not install,” Vesseur explains. For the water purification, Vink Installatie Groep works together with Hellebrekers, a specialist in water purification for swimming pools. That makes this project extra fun for the team.
Sustainability plays a big role. “That was also the mission of the consulting firm,” says Vesseur. The swimming pool gets energy label A+++++, thanks to 400 solar panels, preparation for a heat grid and the reuse of materials from the old building such as wooden slats and recycled felt. There will also be an energy storage system to handle peak consumption. “In addition, we are taking into account possible expansion plans,” Vesseur says. “For example, the heat pump is a little further away from the building. As a result, it will not be an obstacle if a sports hall is built later.”
What is special about this project is that Vink Installation Group worked with the construction team to move from final design to execution design. “We did that with the construction contractor, pool supplier, architect and consultant,” Vesseur explains. “That collaboration worked very pleasantly. There were few real challenges and we even expected to deliver the project ahead of schedule.” Internally, it also required good coordination. “Normally you work with several external parties. Now we were able to solve a lot in-house. That's nice for the client. Many questions we solve quickly ourselves and that works efficiently.”
