That's why roof protection is necessary

Therefore, roof protection is necessary

As an employer, you are required by law to take safety measures under high-risk conditions. How do you ensure safe working at heights and what fall protection solutions are available? That is explained in this article.

When roof protection?

More than 23,000 serious incidents have been reported to the Labor Inspectorate since 1998. The type of accident that occurs most frequently is that people have fallen from a height because there was no fall protection present. Think of a fall from a ladder, scaffolding, roof and so on.

Safe work is required by law as early as 2.50 meters in height. This requires building owners, employers and clients to ensure that work can be done safely. Note that fall protection is also recommended for work below 2.50 meters where there is an increased risk of falling. For example, even a fall from a height of one meter can go wrong, as can working next to or near protruding parts or on traffic routes. So get advice from roof safety specialist Eyecatchersafety to make sure you have taken the proper safety precautions.

Different forms of fall protection

Working on roofs today is subject to a lot of safety standards, legislation and health and safety requirements. You can distinguish between individual and collective fall protection.

Individual fall protection

Individual fall protection provides protection for one person, and under strict conditions this type of fall protection may be chosen. When working at height, you can use a safety harness. This individual safety system consists of three parts: the anchor point, a safety harness and a connection element.

Collective fall protection

Collective fall protection takes precedence over individual fall protection in most cases. Structures allow more persons to work safely and healthily at heights. Examples include edge protection in the form of parapets, a fall net or fencing.
