Quality facades, a distinctive way of working and the resulting success

Velp can easily be called the epicenter of Dutch facade construction. Facédo Geveltechniek has been supplying quality facades from the town in Gelderland for more than 10 years now. "Without any headaches," says Dennis Leijser, director and owner. Together with his close-knit team, Leijser has managed to position the company in the top 5 of Dutch plastic and aluminum facade construction. He himself does not give this much thought, because continuity and pleasant cooperation are the top priorities at Facédo.

"We're a company for and by people, we always have been and we'll keep it that way," Leijser outlines. "Our customers appreciate us for that too. You don't do business on paper here, but with people who put their heart and soul into our customers."

The executive force behind architectural design

Facédo thinks pre-eminently in solutions and may be seen as the extension of the architect. Sometimes exceptional solutions are requested: "Then we are in our element. However, no matter how complex a project is, the customer will never experience any stagnation. We owe that to the expertise our employees possess and the way we apply ourselves. Besides the fact that we supply only A-quality materials from certified and innovative system houses, together we ensure that throughout the entire process, from design to completion, communication with all parties involved is smooth. In doing so, we like to get ahead of the fanfare, spotting early on where the work might pinch and coming up with solutions well in advance. We like to have an early seat at the table with the construction team and reduce complex issues to their essence, so that it is pleasant for everyone in the construction column to work together."

Counting on new hiring

Working at Facédo is for doers, who like a high degree of independence. Ownership and personal freedom are typical core values of the company. "We therefore experience that people send open applications, based on good references received from our staff. In this way, a nice number of people have already started. Still, because of Facédo's growth and dynamism, we keep having vacancies all the time. For example, we have a very nice position available in the calculation department," Leijser suggests.

Who will be the new technical commercial calculator?

Erik van der Weerd is calculation manager at Facédo and in his department there is indeed a shortage of man or woman power. "We are looking for someone who wants to swap the dry calculation work for a more exciting position where calculation is central. Besides calculating projects, our future colleague is going to distinguish himself by building up knowledge around construction. We help with that, of course. So the position is not only office-related, but partly in the field. Gaining experience in the field and attending knowledge sessions will provide a broad horizon. So you can fill your own "backpack" with baggage. Here you are not an employee in the office, but part of a close team that works together very socially with one goal in mind: to deliver great work and make the customer happy. In the estimating department we play a commercial game, everything starts and ends in our department," said Van der Weerd.
