'Proper sizing is fundamental to construction of Lock House'

"Initially, we provide the main dimensioning, detailing and monitoring, commissioned by construction combination VORM and BESIX," DGA/project manager Patty Hagg and process coordinator/measurement manager Sluishuis Charlotte Hagg tell us. "In addition, we provide the dimensioning for installers Van der Sluis Technische Bedrijven and ETB Cas Sombroek."

"We make sure that, among other things, all shafts, walls, anchors, (window and door) recesses, facade elements and balconies in Sluishuis are in the correct XYZ position. The same goes for the cantilever/slant side," Patty said. "Our measuring teams make clear and unambiguous markings, on which the various parties can flawlessly build on. Uniquely, we measure from the BIM model. Because all measurements are plotted using the 3D model, the risk of error is greatly reduced and valuable construction time is saved." The pre-calculated deformation of Sluishuis is closely monitored, with Fund Maatvoering B.V. using various fixed and also stable reference points outside the building. "Based on these measurement results, the structural engineer can check his calculations and the further construction is determined."

This project is being poured on site, which is why the measuring crews are also setting out all the cut-outs for the purpose of installation technology on the table formwork. Then the installers apply their provisions, after which the under reinforcement can be started. "Partly because the mutual communication is good, we work together with all parties like a well-oiled machine." Two measuring teams from FUND Maatvoering B.V. are active on the construction site every day, led by Robert Hogenboom and Charlotte Hagg. "We are a family business with a very close and skilled team, which continuously looks at how things can be done better, faster and more efficiently.
