A good click between general contractor and partner is important: Electrical installations are adapted to the specific needs of the residents

"This assignment shows once again the importance of word-of-mouth advertising. When the developer started this project some three years ago, we were recommended for the integration of the electrical installations thanks to a successful installation in an Amsterdam project from 2010," says Jos Tielens, project manager at HIG Building Solutions. "As in Amsterdam and in numerous other projects, we are working here on behalf of De Vries en Verburg. The main contractor is constructing the two buildings, each with six apartments and a penthouse. The project also includes some central facilities, such as a parking garage, two stairwells and two elevators."

Custom electrical installations

As E-installer, HIG is integrating the electrical power supplies, lighting, camera surveillance, access control, fire alarm system and provisions for future charging stations, among other things, in the central areas. "In itself, this is not an exceptional project, as we now have almost 40 years of experience in the design, installation and maintenance of electrical systems, yet every project is something new. The requirements for a shopping center are different from those for, say, a school or sports facility. For houses and apartment buildings, it's even different," the project manager explains. "The apartments and penthouses here are delivered as shells with all the necessary preparations for electrical outlets, TV connection, sound system, Wifi, home automation, possible electrical operation of curtains and screens and burglary prevention. Once a residential unit is sold, we determine together with the resident which electrical installations are needed and everything is finally finished. For the installation of the home automation and audio/video, we work with B&G Audio & Video Solutions."
