Efficiently soil-formed foundation
With over thirty years of experience in the foundation industry, AA Screw Piles has all the knowledge to produce vibration-free inserted (mortar) screw piles.

Efficient foundation formed in the soil

From the luxurious Manhattan residential complex in Roermond to DEKA's gigantic distribution center in Velsen-Noord. And all completely vibration-free, without any inconvenience to the surroundings. An interview with Remko Peters, Marketing Director of AA Screw Piles, about the many advantages of this method of foundation.

"With more than 30 years of experience in the foundation industry, we have all the knowledge to produce vibration-free inserted (mortar) screw piles," says Peters. "A major advantage of this technique is that we can deliver much faster and more flexibly than other foundation systems. We are able to create a complete foundation for homes, commercial buildings and apartment buildings in a short period of time."

Little inconvenience

The (mortar) screw piles are formed into the ground on site by AA Screw Piles. "With our mobile drilling rigs, we drill a 'hole' to the requested depth and in the desired diameter," Peters explains. "Once at the lowest point, a valve opens, we slowly pull the drill up and concrete and later rebar are inserted. This method of foundation causes practically no noise or nuisance in the form of vibrations. It is much friendlier to the environment than, for example, pile driving. Foundations can therefore be laid in the vicinity or even right next to existing buildings without any problems. We produce the (mortar) screw piles on site in various diameters and pole lengths. In doing so, we use a diversity of machines, such as mobile drilling rigs (weight ranging from about 55 to 68 tons), concrete pumps (capacity 150 cubic meters per hour) and midi-excavators."

Close to the source

Another advantage of using (mortar) screw piles, according to Peters, is that you can make last-minute changes to the design. "The piles are formed in the ground, so a different diameter or greater depth is basically no problem. We work with local concrete suppliers on every project. So the transport movements are extremely limited." Speaking of transport movements, AA Screw Piles recently moved to new premises in Malden, right by the A73. "People and equipment are united in one location here. Thanks to this central location, we can quickly and efficiently reach all working areas in the Netherlands."

Speed, delivery time, price and minimal inconvenience are key advantages of choosing (mortar) screw piles from AA Screw Piles, Peters summarizes. "We work with a club of young, enthusiastic people and have the mentality of a family business. We do a lot for each other and are proud when we have completed another great project together. Nevertheless, we are constantly looking for people who want to be trained in this beautiful profession. There is still plenty of work to do; over 800,000 new homes need to be built in our country in the next ten years."
