The look of yesteryear, with the convenience of today

With new facade frames and new dormers, the renovation of the Van der Pekbuurt falls under the large-scale projects. In that case, the name of Dekker Kozijnprojecten soon comes to mind: specialized in the planning, delivery and assembly of window frames, dormers and facade cladding.

In an earlier renovation, the original wooden window frames in the Van der Pek neighborhood were replaced with plastic ones. As part of the national protected cityscape, the original materials and details are now being restored. Importantly, this is being done in line with the design of the original architect, J.E. van der Pek.

"Dekker Kozijnprojecten cooperates with manufacturers who can machine the window frames - even with complicated detailing - and deliver them ready-made on time," says Patrick de Jong, project coordinator of Dekker Kozijnprojecten. "In this case we are talking about beautiful depth frames with the external characteristics of sash windows, but executed as tilt-and-turn frames. This combines the look of yesteryear with the convenience of today. The prefabrication of the dormers is done in our own workshop. So far, the project is running smoothly. Our specialized assembly teams are certainly focused on efficiency, but what also makes this project very exciting is the specific piece of craftsmanship that we can use to give the facades and dormers their old charm back."
