Various package of stairs and fencing

The Boekel-based company provided Building 60 with various steel and glass elements designed and produced in-house on the interior and exterior.

The company provided all railings (400 meters), stairs, railing slats for the emergency stairwells (300 meters) and roof railings (100 meters) for Vanderlande's new premises. "Our work started at the very beginning of construction and was carried out parallel to the construction progress of the building," says director/owner Cees van der Lee. "For example, the clamping profiles of the glass railings had to be mounted at the same time as the floors were being installed." Another example is the seven enormous staircases made of steel, each weighing 2,000 kilograms. After they were prefabricated in Van der Lee's workshop, they were delivered to the construction site, powder-coated, just in time and hoisted in as complete elements.

In addition to production and assembly, Van der Lee also took on the engineering of the supplied stairs, glass balustrades and fencing. Using the architectural design as a starting point, the company did the complete (detailed) engineering. "Including drawing work, calculation work and strength calculations," Van der Lee continues. "As part of the latter discipline, we subjected some of the installed glass balustrades to a sandbag pendulum test after assembly to test the strength we had determined in practice. This showed that the balustrade section in question fully meets the heavy requirement of 3kN/m and can therefore withstand the impact of large crowds."
