Thinking out of the box about lighting control

Vanderlande's Building 60 is a great example. The project team contacted Eureka International b.v., the makers of Suncolor® light blinds, to help come up with a suitable solution for this new office building. After all, the Suncolor® brand is synonymous with versatile solutions in light shading, blackout and window decoration.

“Customization is the rule for us. For projects at home and abroad, we constantly create and produce specific systems for the most complex window shapes and mounting details. At Vanderlande, we were specifically asked to use Cradle to Cradle materials, with a view to sustainability and circular construction. With our green cloth, 100% made from recycled PET bottles, we can provide an appropriate answer to this and support the BREEAM-NL certification of this beautiful project,” explains Director Benjamin Buhrmann. “This is a continuous curtain wall, where the client wanted to retain the ability to flexibly partition the space. We therefore equipped the roller blind system with special, whisper-quiet motors with a unique IP address so that they can be easily integrated into the building management system individually or as a group. This durable, scalable and digital solution allows for the most energy-efficient adjustment of the light blinds. Since multiple elements had to be mounted on an extremely slim facade system, we developed a solution in which the gaps between the individual canvases were kept very small.”

The first talks took place just after the 2020 construction period and the work was completed at the end of May. Years of experience with customization and special solutions allows Eureka International b.v. to move quickly and flexibly with each request.
