Stertil Dock Products engineers, manufactures and installs the levellers, shelters, bumpers, wheel guides and doors for these.
"At the end of 2018, contractor Martens Bouw involved us in this project to help think about the dock system," says sales manager Herman Cohen of Stertil Dock Products. "An important point of interest is the cold store. To keep the temperature there consistently low, heat must be shut out as much as possible. So also when docking, loading and unloading."
Stertil Dock Products supplies the docks of CB Greenwarehouse with eleven extendable levellers. Seven of these are stepped frame. This makes it possible to dock with the doors closed. Only after docking, the warehouse door opens, and then the truck doors. This keeps heat, as well as dust and insects, out of the door. "Stepped frame levellers require thorough fine-tuning with the contractor," Cohen emphasizes. "It is important, for example, that the concrete is poured at the right depths. With Martens Bouw, that coordination went very pleasantly."
Another product that contributes to temperature maintenance in the warehouse is the POWERFLEX® curtain shelter. This flexible shelter - even at extremely low temperatures - provides an optimal seal for vehicles of various sizes. Cohen: "To make docking safe and damage-free, we equip the loading docks with sensor-controlled PE-M bumpers. The loader lowers or raises the bumper with a single foot movement, allowing him to load or unload. When one wants to close the door, the PE-M platform bumper must be back in the highest position for the next truck to come docking."
Stertil Dock Products develops, engineers and manufactures all products in its own factory in Friesland. This benefits the quality of the products, as well as progress and flexibility during the production process. Cohen: "In Haps the work is in the final stage. The levellers have been in place for a while. Now it is the turn of the doors, shelters, bumpers and wheel guides. This coming summer we expect to deliver."
