Large distribution centers require a different way of building. Everything comes together: logistics, sustainability and technology. The facade plays a bigger role in this than is often thought. At JYSK's new distribution center, JM van Delft & zn, commissioned by main contractor Willy Naessens Nederland and partner Vrolijk, is providing the aluminum window frames and curtain walls. This determines an important part of the building envelope. Think of insulation, airtightness and daylight. On this scale, that requires tight engineering and a clear implementation approach.

In this project, JM van Delft & zn is working together with Willy Naessens Nederland and Vrolijk. There is continuous coordination in the construction team, with short lines of communication, optimum knowledge sharing and early problem solving as the goal. By being involved early on, the project becomes not only technically sound, but also practically feasible on site.
Aluminum fits here logically. It lasts a long time, requires little maintenance and is completely recyclable. With that, JM van Delft & zn builds a shell that just does what it needs to do. Now and later.
These types of projects revolve around scale, but the difference is in the details. That's where the role of the facade builder lies. Combining technology with an approach that works in practice. This creates a building that meets today's requirements and is ready for what is to come.
