Heavy rainfall in a short period of time is becoming increasingly common in the Netherlands. With a large roof like that of the new distribution center for Wasco in Deventer, the rainwater drainage must of course be well regulated. That is why Aliaxis engineered, calculated and delivered its Akasison rainwater drainage system for both the primary and secondary systems. Installation partner Brassco then installed it.
Aliaxis is a specialist and supplier/producer of siphonic roof drainage systems and a supplier of various other drainage systems. The Akasison XL system is ideally suited for rainwater drainage in buildings with the very largest or most complex roofs. "Together with the various parties, including main installer Batenburg Installatietechniek and our installation partner Brassco, we looked for the most efficient solution within the customer requirements, regulations and design possibilities," says Mariska Graveland, Business Development Manager Akasison at Aliaxis. "We chose our roof hoppers XL75 PVC for the primary system and the XL90 PVC for the secondary (emergency) system."
To connect the primary system underground, calculations had to be made several times to determine the correct pressure and discharge. The emergency system had to be fitted into the complex steel structure, in which no roof outlets could be positioned in various parts. "The mutual communication between Aliaxis, Batenburg Installatietechniek and Brassco was excellent. The construction drawings and calculations were ready on time, the materials were delivered on time and the installers were skilled and fast, so the project could be realized within the timeframe. Partly because of this, the project went smoothly," says Graveland.
