WINDOW FRAME-DOOR COMBINATIONS FROM OUR OWN STOCK

Svedex is the expert in lacquered style doors. From panel doors to glass doors and line doors, combining traditional Dutch craftsmanship with enthusiasm and a love for the profession. Following on from the historic cigar factory in Tegelen, the Happy Days new-build project in Zoetermeer, and the SAWA residential building in Rotterdam, Svedex window frames and interior doors will soon also be found in The BaanTower residential tower in Rotterdam. This is a large-scale project involving 2,600 window frames and interior doors, which will be installed across no fewer than 50 floors and in 427 studios, family homes, and penthouses.

Svedex manufactures, supplies, and installs the window and door combinations on behalf of contractor RED Bouw. “Based on the project drawings and 3D models, our work preparation team in Varsseveld engineered all the window frames and interior doors and converted them to our project platform,” says André Pouwer, Key Account Manager at Svedex. “This project platform is the beating heart of our organization, where all the home specifications are created. It specifies exactly which window frame, door, and fittings need to be installed for each opening. From dimensions to direction of rotation, any glass or soundproof fillings, and hinge and lock choices, which are also used to generate the outlet lists. What's more, our production and installation are managed from this platform.”

High-quality window frame and door combinations

In accordance with the design by architect Powerhouse Company, all rental apartments in The BaanTower will be fitted with high-quality flush interior doors, combined with a flush steel mounting frame and a white Svedex Superlak® lacquer finish, says Pouwer. “Because this lacquer is extremely scratch-resistant and resistant to discoloration, residents are assured of a high-quality interior door for many years to come.”

Just-in-time production and assembly

All window frames and doors are produced just-in-time at the Svedex factory in Varsseveld and transported on pallets to Rotterdam, where runners from developer RED Company ensure transport to the correct floors. “Our own fitters then carry the window frames and doors to the correct apartments and openings,” says Pouwer. Around four to ten window frame and door combinations are installed per home. For example, for the living rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, and toilets. “We started installing the first frames just after the construction industry's summer break. We work per floor or grid, depending on the finishing schedule.”

Home-grown strength

Svedex has been the specialist in lacquered style doors since 1954. From its factory in Varsseveld, the company produces around 700,000 lacquered doors annually, a large proportion of which are used in new-build homes in the Netherlands. “We are a thoroughly Dutch family business,” says Pouwer. “Our strength lies in our expertise, but also in our high level of customer engagement, our high-quality Svedex Superlak® and our wide range of products.”
