Sustainable building is no longer a choice but a structural precondition. Construction teams have to deal with compulsory MPG calculations, stricter requirements from clients (developers, corporations and municipalities) in which CO₂ reduction, circularity and use of materials weigh heavily. Without validated environmental data, it becomes more difficult to get designs approved or to win a tender convincingly.
Therefore, WEBO has recently 72 new category 1 product cards have been included in the National Environmental Database (NMD). Compiled from independently reviewed LCAs, these maps provide construction teams with immediate certainty in their environmental performance justification.

A key differentiator is that the new product maps are scalable. Different size window frames can be applied while the same validated environmental data remains valid. This prevents calculation corrections and makes the data directly usable at project level, from sketch design to permit.
The product maps include the BENG Frame®. and the WoodAlu-Frame® , the low-maintenance variant with aluminum outer shell. For inclusion in the NMD, material flows, production processes, maintenance scenarios and energy consumption were defined in detail and coordinated with specialized LCA experts.

Category 1 constitutes the highest quality within the NMD. Its use demonstrably leads to a lower environmental profile than generic values. For building professionals, this means:
WEBO is happy to help think about the use of the new product maps within MPG calculations, LCA substantiation and tender processes. The new category 1 data offers scope in design choices and speeds up permit processes.
The expansion of Category 1 environmental data is consistent with how WEBO is working toward biobased building solutions with less environmental impact and better substantiated MPG results. In the campaign 'driven by wood’ this development is explained more broadly.
