Complete E-installation 'out of sight'

Includes access control, lighting, fire safety and intercom

Visser Elektrotechniek is responsible for designing, engineering and installing the electrical installation in the new C3 office building in Amsterdam.

The Beverwijk-based electrical contractor has grown over the past century into an all-round service provider with a wide range of regular clients: from retail to contracting. Technical director Ernst van Rookhuizen: "The activities range from standard to luxury electrical engineering, domotics, camera and security systems, maintenance, service and inspection. Within Visser Elektrotechniek there is a Sustainable department. This department takes care of installing solar panels and heat pumps." Visser Elektrotechniek has sixty of its own people and a flexible shell. Since 2021, the company has been part of the VDK Groep, a nationwide technical service provider. 

Design, engineering, installation

One of Visser Elektrotechniek's regular clients is Vesting Bouw, the main contractor for Project C3 in Amsterdam. Van Rookhuizen: "We have regular contact and for this project we were also commissioned to realize the E-installation, the access control system, the lighting, fire safety and intercom installation. We started the installation last January. Before that, we spent four months engineering it." Visser Elektrotechniek was involved at an early stage. There was already half a specification, on which the company worked together with the main contractor and W-installer. The process was somewhat delayed due to problems with the permit and was picked up again about six months ago. "What makes this project special is that the client asked that the technical installations be hidden from view as much as possible. This gives the building a more luxurious appearance."

Built under architecture

It is a medium-sized project for the electrical contractor. A crew of four is expected to work on it until the end of the year. "It's a nice project to work on. The building is being built under architecture, so the architect is also looking at the lighting system, for example. In addition, the construction location, between two existing buildings, is a challenge in itself."
