The central heating systems, hot water supply and associated control technology in the Aquarius renovation project in Amstelveen are being supplied and installed by Mampaey Installatietechniek BV, a preferred partner of main contractor ERA Contour. The latter offers efficient cooperation, based on customer-oriented customization and digital documentation according to the proven KYP online construction planning system and the web application homeDNA.
As a specialist in central heating installations, Mampaey Installatietechniek BV is regularly called in by ERA Contour for new construction and renovation projects. Aquarius was brought into an unoccupied state by ERA Contour with Eigen Haard in a renovation, which allowed maximum effort to be put into home improvement, including replacement of the central technical installations and piping. For gas-driven energy and hot water supply, a collective system was engineered based on central heating systems, individually controllable and collectively supplied with energy through a cascade arrangement with three central heating boilers and two hot water boilers from manufacturer Remeha in the central technical rooms. A cascade system is a heating system in which several central heating boilers are connected in parallel to achieve greater output and is suitable for large buildings such as apartment complexes, hotels and offices.
"We also supply associated measurement and control technology and all installations are suitable for future use in combination with low-temperature heat pumps," explains Mampaey's contractor Ali Atmaca. The form of cooperation with ERA Contour is tried and tested and focused on delivery per renovated home. "Every day we make a day's start on construction with all construction partners and using the KYP system, planning and associated progress are mapped online, for all parties and recorded per home with homeDNA. We take photos of all completed parts and can immediately report any problem in execution." It is also immediately clear if planning issues may arise. "Because communication is so good, there are hardly any in this construction project. No one gets in each other's way. Ideal for renovations, and this system also works excellently in new construction projects."
The 182 homes are equipped with regular radiators, supported by the ClimaRad system. Unlike natural ventilation, with ClimaRad's decentralized ventilation, the supplied air is pre-heated by a heat exchanger unit. The ventilation units have built-in CO2 sensors for air quality, humidity and temperature and provide a comfortable indoor climate. "Our long-standing partner Bevico takes care of the ventilation ducting component, with the corresponding ventilation units per apartment. The system provides automatic control in the heated rooms," says Atmaca. "The resident doesn't have to do anything." The central heating/hot water systems are custom linked to the building management system and can be monitored remotely. "In week 28, just before summer, we hope to deliver all the homes. After the construction period, the installations will be commissioned. Good planning, right?"
