Building on the basis of trust, neighborliness and long-term partnership. Construction company van de Ven and multidisciplinary contracting company Van de Beeten joined forces as early as February 2022 to build the new laboratory with office space for NutriControl in Veghel.

“Because we were invited into the construction team at an early stage, our knowledge and expertise came into its own optimally,” says Peter Verbakel, Director of Infrastructure at Van de Beeten. “For example with regard to the underground infrastructure, groundwork and site layout, where quality, manufacturability and costs were brought into good harmony. In February 2024, we were awarded the contract for this new building and started the preparation and detailed engineering of the sewer system and the infiltration of rainwater into the ground. For this we also liaised with the Aa and Maas Water Board. Furthermore, we engineered and worked out the paving from preliminary design to final design and implementation design, after which we started implementation.”

From earthwork to greenery

Realization began with the earthwork and underground infrastructure, Verbakel says. “From casing pipes to sewers, with approximately one kilometer of sewer pipes being laid. As construction progressed, we returned for the superstructure and site layout. On the approximately 13,000 square meter construction site, we completed approximately 5,000 square meters of paving. Just before completion, we additionally completed the cultural engineering portion with plantings.”

In total, Van de Beeten moved about four thousand cubic meters of soil on the N.C.B.laan in Veghel. In order to complete all the work within the allotted time, about ten Van de Beeten professionals were on site every day, Verbakel said. “From excavator craftsmen to crane operators, pavers and installers, who worked from coarse to fine with their own materials and equipment and under the inspiring eye of our foreman.”

Long-term partnership

A challenge here is always to streamline the work properly with the main and ancillary contractors, he says. “Because only then can each perform their work well and to their satisfaction. Here, too, our long-term partnership is evident. As a partner and neighbor across the street from Bouwbedrijf van de Ven, we know very well what we can gain from each other and what we can expect from each other.”

Following NutriControl in Veghel, Van de Ven and Van de Beeten are currently working on a new distribution center for GARBE Industrial Real Estate Netherlands in Veghel. But also on the expansion of Bas World's headquarters and workshop in Veghel, including the realization of a new check-in office. “In Lelystad, we are also realizing a new distribution center for Bestseller,” Verbakel concludes, emphasizing that cooperation and partnerships create joint successes.
