IBS Afbouw emerged from a pointing and facade renovation company and grew into a specialist in exterior facade insulation in 2021. Veenstra was there early on. "About 10 to 15 years ago, as a jointing and facade renovation company, we saw the shift to energy transition. Homes demanded better insulation, which we responded to by specializing in exterior wall insulation." What makes IBS Afbouw's work so unique? "We really deliver top quality," Veenstra emphasizes. "We use good materials and make clear agreements that we always keep. This is how we achieve a result that stands like a house. Literally."

Sustainable to the core 

Sustainability is important in the way IBS Afbouw works. "Everything we do revolves around working in an environmentally conscious manner," Veenstra explains. "For example, the team drives electric vehicles, we use sustainable products from Sto Isoned and we separate our waste. We want to be an example in the construction industry. That applies not only to our projects, but also to our commitment as a sustainable company." 

An example of IBS Afbouw's approach is the preservation of a 40-year-old home. Using insulation materials and mineral strips, IBS Afbouw made the house energy efficient and modern. "The best thing is to see how a building becomes completely contemporary," Veenstra says proudly. 

Mineral facade strips: light, durable and versatile 

Mineral facade strips are a big part of IBS Afbouw's work. These completely CO2-neutral strips offer numerous advantages. Veenstra: "They have a light weight, which makes heavy constructions unnecessary. This saves not only material but also transport costs. In addition, the strips provide design freedom; in terms of shape, texture and color you can go in any direction." 

The mineral strips sit securely and are completely water and dirt repellent. This provides a beautiful, safe finish with a lifespan of at least 25 years. Moreover, they contribute to the company's energy-saving goals, such as achieving a high RC value. "With these strips we are building more sustainable, smarter and more beautiful," he says.

IBS Afbouw works on a variety of projects. From private housing construction to utilities. A recent project is a school building that fully complies with the latest energy standards. "We use only top-of-the-line materials," says Veenstra. "The result? Buildings that are not only energy efficient, but also impress aesthetically."

IBS Afbouw is focusing on healthy and sustainable growth in the future. "We want to specify more in impressive projects, such as new construction of bungalows, villas and renovation projects, but always sustainable," Veenstra said. The company is investing in new techniques and materials, including all products from Sto Isoned, which helps from all angles with details for the right versions.
