Sustainable zipscreens for Walkwartier residential tower

The blinds for Walkwartier residential tower in Oss were custom manufactured and installed by Schellekens & Schellekens. In this project, extra wind-resistant zipscreens with a radio motor with handheld transmitter were chosen. "Typical of zipscreens is that they give a sleek and modern look to the window, while privacy and daylight can be optimally regulated," says account manager Henk Brugman.

The 204 zipscreens include profiles and control installation mounted on the frames on the outside of the facade. Zipscreens (or zipper screens) have a fabric that is zipped in all around. "It is a flat system, very suitable for larger window areas and wind resistant up to wind force 9. Zipscreens offer privacy: you can't see inside from the outside, but enough daylight continues to come in to work in the home or watch television." New climate-control regulations are making durable shading systems increasingly important, Brugman says. "The air conditioner doesn't have to work as hard, and the system is also UV-resistant."

Project Support

The company from Beuningen relieves its clients and provides project support from design to assembly and service, based on years of project experience and with its own production and engineering. Brugman: "Naturally, architect and client are involved in the color scheme; this system is finished in two RAL colors. This also includes the profiles. We carry out the assembly on the residential tower with our own people, completely tailored to the frames already installed." The zipscreen system is also low maintenance, according to Brugman. "We always recommend maintenance by Schellekens & Schellekens, which fits within the possibilities. Zipscreens are easy to keep clean and give the user great comfort in all areas."
