In the former Beukenhorst-West office area in Hoofddorp, between Hoofddorp train station and the city park, Hyde Park is rising. The new urban district will provide space for approximately 3,800 apartments, offices, amenities and hospitality and is scheduled for completion in 2025. Each apartment block in Hyde Park bears the name of a famous London neighborhood. For example, the iconic Notting Hill, designed by MVSA Architects, which includes 310 luxury apartments, is currently under construction. The apartments are divided into "houses" I through VI. For access control in the six residential blocks, the GOLMAR 2-wire GTwin door video system from Vercoma Communication Systems was selected.
Notting Hill is an initiative of BPD Ontwikkeling BV and Snippe Projecten BV, with whom Vercoma already has a long-standing relationship. "As early as mid-2019, Snippe Projecten BV visited our showroom in Wormerveer and learned about our latest products," says Paula Helsloot-Mone, Internal Sales Team Leader at Vercoma. "They were immediately charmed by our iPlusBUS door communication system. Not surprisingly, because this system offers all the advantages of full-IP door communication technology, but in combination with the familiar traditional simple bus infrastructure. We provided some information about full-IP technology as well as our 2-wire bus system. In addition, we explained our options for Notting Hill and Hyde Park as a whole. Based on this, the GOLMAR 2-wire GTwin door video system with a TEKNA-S GTwin wall monitor with color screen in each apartment was finally chosen."
Vercoma is supplying the systems on behalf of installation company P. van der Niet. "In the six apartment blocks there will be a uniform system based on a day/night control with timer," Helsloot-Mone explains. "Both at the outside door and at the inside door in the vestibule, bell panels will be installed. During the day, the exterior doors of the blocks are open, so that mail carriers, for example, can easily reach the mailboxes. Those who want to go further into the building must be given specific access to do so. In the evening and night hours, the buildings are completely locked, keeping out uninvited guests."
Handsome, flat and vandal-resistant flush-mounted stainless steel code scroll panels were specified for the entrance panels, which Vercoma's Nexa Inox code scroll panels ideally provide for. "In consultation with the installer, it was also decided to pre-install all central equipment in a ventilated and pre-wired steel mounting cabinet, including 220-volt plugs," Helsloot-Mone says. "This allows the mechanics to install the installations at lightning speed and plug & play." The systems will be delivered to Hoofddorp in mid-February/early March.
