Always and everywhere in control

Digital access control systems provide convenience and comfort for building managers and occupants alike

With Intratone's keypads, card readers and HF receivers, housing corporations, owners associations and other building owners are assured of high reliability, security and ease of use. The digital access control systems are very quick and easy to install, minimizing defects and failure costs. In addition, the solutions require little to no maintenance. "Except for the power supply to the housing, wiring is not required," says Mark Duiker, Area Sales Manager at Intratone Netherlands. "The systems can be easily managed remotely, saving a lot of time and money. In combination with a European production, we manage to convince more and more clients."

Housing associations, homeowners' associations and other building owners are diligently looking for solutions to replace their mechanical locking systems. "Mechanical locking systems come in many forms," Duiker knows. "And while certified keys are already a lot more secure than traditional keys, managing them is complex. Especially for corporations with large home ownership. They clearly need systems that make it clear at a glance how many and which keys are in circulation. But also systems that can be managed in real time and remotely. For example, when keys are lost or redundant or when temporary access needs to be granted (quickly). Our digital locking systems respond to this perfectly."

Big in digital locking systems

Intratone has become big in digital locking systems, Duiker says. "Intratone is a brand of Cogelec and originated in France. We were founded about 20 years ago as a manufacturer of intercoms and access control solutions and within a few years grew to become the market leader. From this position, we expanded into the Benelux, where our systems are now also in great demand. For example, with housing corporations and Home Owners Associations, where our keypads, pass readers and HF receivers are highly regarded."

HF receivers

The HF receivers work in conjunction with Intratone remote controls and are ideally suited for opening and closing gates, barriers and garages. "The HF receivers are also regularly used to control entrance doors within a building," Duiker says. "For example, in combination with a door operator so that residents with mobility scooters can easily enter the building." The HF receivers are available in different versions. "Most popular for the above applications is the HF Mini: a standalone module with an integrated SIM card that can be easily connected to the electric door opener. From locking plate to door operator or sliding door and including the control motors of a garage door or rolling gate. The HF receivers and remote controls are easy to manage online via our secure online management portal, which also allows remote controllers to be blocked and/or re-registered remotely."

Pass readers

Intratone's pass readers also function completely standalone. "The systems are designed to make access management of specific doors as simple as possible," Duiker said. "The pass readers can be mounted on any door in the building. Installers can install and connect the systems to the electric door opener within an hour. Then the administrator can easily connect from the online management portal and via the integrated SIM card to control his authorizations."

The pass readers function in conjunction with special tags developed in-house by Intratone. "In addition to a standard tag, which users must hold against the pass reader, we also offer an active tag that is automatically recognized within a one-meter radius. Residents can therefore keep this tag in their bag, coat or pocket, while still being identified." This solution is suitable, for example, for residents with a walker, Duiker says. "But also for other situations in which residents want to experience maximum comfort. For the same reason, we also offer a remote control/tag combination. In this case, the remote control functions in combination with the HF Mini receiver, but also contains a chip for identification by the pass reader. As a result, residents need only one accessory for complete access management."

Keypads

The keypads are primarily used to provide (temporary) access to contractors, maintenance services and healthcare workers. "In the online management portal, administrators can easily program codes in real time. Examples include one-time codes, but also codes with a time range when certain doors may be opened. By simply transmitting the access codes digitally, administrators no longer need to go on site to open a door." The keypads are primarily used on doors of technical and administrator areas. For access doors where both a keypad and pass reader are desired, Intratone offers combined solutions.

All of Intratone's digital locking systems are 12-volt powered. A conscious choice, according to Duiker, because batteries must be checked and/or replaced annually or biennially. "This unnecessarily curtails the convenience of remote management. With our 12 Volt systems, this is not an issue. Most positions in a building already have a power point available, making connection a piece of cake. And if not, the work still far outweighs the convenience and comfort that managers will experience."
