We Build Together

An inspiring project that Intal realized together with Bedrijfsbouw Partners is the new premises of Dertec: a manufacturer of stainless steel drives for the food industry that also sells drive systems and components for mechanical engineering. Its innovative systems made Dertec a world-class company that was growing out of its own shell. So it was time for new, ultramodern premises in Sassenheim. In the company building with office, designed by WNS Architects, much attention has been paid to the high-quality finish. It is a mix of modern, sleek and industrial, combined with characteristic elements. "Both Dertec and Bedrijfsbouw Partners are known for their long-term relationships. So that suits us perfectly," says Mensink. Wouter-Jan van den Dool of Bedrijfsbouw Partners agrees: "The visions of Intal and Bedrijfsbouw Partners are not far apart: personal involvement, expertise and a clear focus without making concessions on quality. We enjoy working together in the construction process. Not for nothing is our motto 'We Build Together'."

All disciplines

At project Dertec, Intal was able to deploy just about any aluminum facade system. "From sliding doors to curtain walls and from window frames to fire-resistant frames. We used the basic profiles: the IT77 window and door system and the IT55 curtain wall system, working from the architect's detailing. Our team of engineers came up with a perfect solution for the sloping facade, and when the client indicated that they wanted to apply solar-control glazing, they acted quickly. Normally this is quite a process that you then enter into, with sampling and looking at examples on other projects, but by switching quickly in the engineering phase no delays occurred. We also thought along with the contractor in terms of structural connections, so that afterwards there were no challenges for the steel supplier that would then have to be solved in the project. Therein lies the strength of Intal." Mensink concludes, "All in all, a great job that included all of Intal's areas of expertise and multiple aluminum facade solutions."
