Project developer VORM and Verenigd Beheer from Baarn have signed the purchase and construction agreement for Binck City Park phase 1, block 4 in The Hague. Here VORM is developing and building 89 energy-efficient apartments, divided into 72 free sector rental homes and 17 medium-rent homes. The overall plan for Binck City Park, designed by OZ architects, VMX architects and Braaksma & Roos architects, includes over a thousand apartments for a wide range of audiences. From starters to the elderly and from students to young professionals. The start of construction of phase 1, block 4 is scheduled Q1-2022 with a completion forecast of Q4-2024.
New construction project Binck City Park answers the housing shortage in the municipality of The Hague, in the affordable rental segment. The Hague's Binckhorst - of which Binck City Park is a part - is being transformed into a tough and water-rich commuter area that will house thousands of households. The total program of Binck City Park consists of 1,100 homes ranging from 24 m2 (student apartments) to 180 m2 (penthouses), spread over four substantial buildings. Thus, with the Binck City Park complex, building developer VORM is giving substance to the densified city of the future. "We are delighted to have Verenigd Beheer as a new partner of VORM. We are going to build something beautiful here together. Binck City Park is a great start, where we are deliberately focusing on affordable housing through the addition of many social and medium-rent homes," says Sander van der Wolf, Development Manager & Team Leader at VORM.
The tower and crown will be a beautiful addition to the skyline of the Binckhorst. To create a connection with city life higher up as well, roof gardens will be realized at various levels in the tower and on top of the accompanying parking garage. Together with the terraces, the roof gardens form a lively square in a city neighborhood. Moreover, each building here is given its own identity, through the application of different construction methods. In this way, VORM is creating a city within a city.
Buyer United Management is very excited about the collaboration with VORM within this unique project. "The combination of sustainable and energy-efficient homes in the affordable free sector and middle rental segment is fully in line with our objective to further substantially expand our housing portfolio in the coming years with high-quality homes in prime locations," said the Spokesperson for Verenigd Beheer.
Binck City Park will be a sustainable, energy-efficient residential tower with a fully nature-inclusive environment. The program pays much attention to (functional) greenery. A large park will be created with space for birds and insects, such as bees, caterpillars and butterflies. The four blocks are connected by roof gardens, also called "the roof park. This is where the plan gets its name, Binck City Park. A place to escape the city. Just as in a historic city the backyards of the canal houses are the quiet places, here the central roof garden is the quiet place. Here you can breathe, here you can unwind, here you can escape the dynamics.
United Management was technically assisted in the purchase process by Compact Real Estate Services. Dentons provided legal counsel on behalf of the buyer.
Binck City Park is located next to the historic Binckhorst castle, on Binckhorstlaan, and near the entrance to the Rotterdamsebaan tunnel.
