Iron-clad floors

REPPEL b.v. Bouwspecialiteiten has been active as a supplier of floor systems for more than 90 years. Started in 1930 as a distributor of the well-known LEWIS dovetailed sheets, the Dordrecht-based company has experienced considerable growth and development. Today REPPEL b.v. can call itself the manufacturer and supplier of a complete package of floor solutions for new construction, rebuilding, renovation and conversion projects.

Still unique in the range are the LEWIS Dovetail sheets, which are available in various steel thicknesses and with Magnelis corrosion protection. Together with the MAX 4 reinforcement plates, OP-DECK insulated concrete floor systems and HODY trapezoidal plates, the floor systems stand for high-quality solutions with floor thicknesses from 15 to about 300 mm. "The similarity between the various floor systems is that cold-rolled profiled steel forms the basis for a rock-solid floor," explains Reginald van Dooremalen of REPPEL b.v. "The profiled steel serves as the formwork and reinforcement of the floor. Thanks to this strong base, a durable structural floor can be realized with an optimized amount of concrete, sand cement or poured screed mortar, depending on the floor type, which meets all requirements with regard to load-bearing capacity, fire resistance, sound and thermal insulation. Thanks to the low floor weight of steel plate concrete floors, the supporting structure can be made considerably lighter. Moreover, in most cases the steel plates can be assembled without a construction crane, creating an optimum in efficiency, durability and construction cost reduction."

Comprehensive service and advice

In addition to a complete product range, REPPEL b.v. distinguishes itself through comprehensive service and advice. "Based on the wishes of the architect and/or structural engineer, we like to determine the right solution for each project," Van Dooremalen emphasizes. "Regardless of whether it is a complete building or the sealing of a single floor cavity. With static calculations, laying plans and detailed drawings, we ensure that the quality of the floor is guaranteed at all times."

HODY 206

The latest addition to REPPEL b.v.'s range is the HODY 206. This 206 mm high profiled steel plate is used to make so-called high steel plate concrete floors. "With a working width of 780 mm, HODY 206 is the fastest covering steel plate currently available," says Van Dooremalen. "The unique profiling also ensures that, despite the large free spans, only a limited amount of concrete is required. As a result, the deadweight of the steel plate concrete floor is much lower than other floor systems suitable for large spans." HODY 206 was introduced to the market in April and is enjoying great interest. As a first project, the steel plate concrete floor was applied in care complex Ter Reede in Vlissingen. In addition, HODY 206 is currently being installed at the Wilhelmina Hospital in Assen.
