The Rat Verlegh Stadium is the home of the NAC Breda soccer club. The stadium opened in 1996 and was rapidly renovated during the 2025 summer break. Preco constructed the concrete grandstand elements, staircases, landings, and walls that make the stadium future-proof. Thanks to its expertise and close collaboration with local partners, the stadium was quickly prepared for new highlights.
Preco became a business partner of NAC Breda in 2024. “We also regularly carry out precast concrete projects for Bouwbedrijf Vrolijk,” says commercial director Theo Kool. “A nice one-two, to use soccer terminology. Following our work on the new warehouse for DSV in Moerdijk and various projects for logistics real estate developer DHG, we were approached in mid-March regarding the grandstand expansion for NAC Breda. We then completed the detailed design of the new grandstand elements—including the associated walls, beams, and columns—in record time. We were also responsible for the engineering, production, and delivery of the precast concrete stairs and landings. ”In just three months, working together with NAC Breda and Bouwbedrijf Vrolijk, we took the project from concept to completion, allowing 1,500 additional spectators to now enjoy an unforgettable soccer match.”

In total, the order for Preco included approximately 80 wall elements, 80 grandstand elements, 16 columns, and 16 beams, says Kool. “In addition, we supplied 50 staircases and landings. For the grandstand elements, we ordered a special steel mold, which was delivered just two weeks later. That was quite a feat, as were the efforts of our skilled workers. Many colleagues worked evenings and Saturdays to finish all the prefabricated elements on time. A total of about 80 shipments were needed to transport all the elements to Breda, where the entire concrete structure was erected in just under two weeks.’
Preco specializes in precast concrete elements—from hollow-core slabs to walls, balconies, stairs, and custom elements. In addition, Preco is one of the few Dutch suppliers of architectural concrete. “Over the past year, we’ve had the opportunity to complete several projects using architectural concrete, such as The Bridge in Amsterdam,” says Kool. “For this project, we supplied concrete facade elements that were polished in our own factory—a specialized process in which our advanced machines transform concrete surfaces into mirror-smooth, durable elements in any desired color. Thanks to the purchase of a blasting booth, we can now also produce blasted elements. This allows us to meet even more prefab concrete requirements.”
