Alhra Glas has recently purchased its own and fully electric powered mini crane, the Hoeflon C6e, which of course was delivered in the well-known red Alhra color.

Specialists in glass

Rotterdam glass specialist Alhra Glas, part of the Alhra Group, supplies and installs glass for a wide variety of applications. From single glass, insulation glass, laminated glass and tempered glass to mirrors, curved glass, stained glass and fire-resistant glass. "We have a permanent and flexible pool of highly experienced glaziers who carry out delivery, installation and other work very competently," says director/owner Ferrie van Heusden. "Both for business and private customers. We excel in renovation projects, where we not only replace single glass with new insulation glass, but can also remediate asbestos-containing glazing sealant. From complete glass facades to a simple refrigerator window: for all glass questions, you have come to the right place at Alhra."

With the 4 Prinsessenflats in Rotterdam Alexanderpolder (660 homes), the Mandoline in Rijswijk (9 blocks á 32 homes), the Henri Dunant flat in Zoetermeer (over 300 homes) and the Space Tower (Euromast) hotel suites in Rotterdam, Alhra Glas has an impressive list of references. "In order to continue to carry out projects well, quickly and sustainably in the future, we continuously invest in our people and machines," says Van Heusden. "In more and more places in the Randstad, fuel-fired equipment is no longer allowed. This is why we recently purchased our own and fully electrically powered mini crane, the Hoeflon C6e, which of course comes in our well-known red Alhra color."

Also in hard-to-reach locations

The mini crane is also called "the all-rounder. Within Alhra Glas, the new crane is used in particular to lift heavy glass weights of 48 to 3,000 kilograms. "With a maximum lifting height of 16 meters, the mini crane is excellent for glass assembly on floors. Thanks to its limited dimensions of 75 x 195 cm (wxh), the mini-crane also fits through any doorway or garden gate, allowing work in hard-to-reach locations to be carried out without problems. Because we are no longer dependent on third parties, we are even more flexible in our schedules."

Toward a sustainable future

A new trailer was purchased to transport the mini-crane. "We have also invested in our glass vans," Van Heusden said. "Thanks to an expansion of our fleet, we can serve customers even faster and provide even more complete services. A unique addition in this context is our extended and fully enclosed glass bus, which guarantees the glass can be transported clean and dry. Under all weather conditions. This glass can also be used to transport much more glass at once, which means that fewer buses need to be driven. That too is sustainability, in our opinion."

The roof of the glass shop in Rotterdam is fitted with solar panels, generating over 8,600 kilos of CO2 is saved. The building also recently housed a new, high-tech Intermac cutting table, which allows laminated glass to be cut even faster and with high cutting precision. "With this, we offer the perfect combination of quality, productivity and efficiency and are ready for a sustainable future."
