The construction of Kop Dakpark in Rotterdam shows what good cooperation can deliver. Thanks to open communication and flexibility, AKUGT BV was able to organize the delivery of the window frames smoothly. “We always look at what can be done,” says owner Muhidin Ejubovic.
AKUGT is a relatively young company, founded in 2017 and based in Zaandam. The company focuses on aluminum and plastic facade elements for the business market. “We work mainly for contractors, frame fabricators and owners” associations,“ Ejubovic says. ”By now we have a network of over 200 customers throughout the Netherlands.“ Within the company, Alma Alic deals with purchasing, after-sales and the supervision of larger projects. ”Especially with new construction and renovation, it is important that everything fits together well," Alic says.
During the Kop Dakpark project, AKUGT faced an unexpected situation. The party that was to purchase and assemble the window frames went bankrupt shortly before delivery. “We had already produced the window frames (for the first phase),” says Ejubovic. “Then you're talking about large values. That's exciting.” In consultation with the trustee and Slokker Bouwgroep, things moved quickly. “We immediately started talking to each other. By communicating openly, we found a solution that allowed the project to continue. So in the end it still became a win-win situation for both of us. We could just deliver the window frames and Slokker Bouwgroep had no construction delays.”
AKUGT handled the production and delivery of the window frames. Due to limited space on the construction site, phased delivery was necessary. “That requires good coordination,” says Alic. “Especially since we were also working with three different, non-standard colors.” According to both interlocutors, the strength was mainly in the cooperation. “By being transparent and looking for solutions together, we were able to avoid delays,” says Ejubovic. “That gives the customer confidence.”
The project is still in progress, but the first three phases have been completed. Alic: “This shows what is possible if you keep thinking along.”
