Craftsmanship 2.0

From sewerage and water installations to rainwater drainage and the complete prefabrication and installation of cast-in-place piping: commissioned by VORM Bouw, Installation Company J.C. Kersbergen is providing the sanitary installations at The Blox. Thanks to its early involvement in the 3D design and full prefabrication in-house, it plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth running of the rough and finish phase, which is also digitally recorded for excellent traceability.

“Right from the design phase, we are already involved in the 3D/BIM model, in which all the piping runs are carefully worked out,” explains Monique Kersbergen, co-owner of the installation company. “This not only ensures compliance with laws and regulations, but also allows for a seamless connection to VORM Bouw's work preparation. Admittedly, we are already fully assembling, while on the upper level some design details are still being worked out. This is common in high-rise buildings, where design and execution often run in parallel.”

Extensive prefabrication

A strong point of Installation Company J.C. Kersbergen is its in-house prefabricated production. “Water pipes and sewer parts that are cast into the floors of the housing units are produced in advance and assembled to size for ready-to-use on construction,” Kersbergen explains. “This approach speeds up the process, increases quality and minimizes errors.” The installation company is responsible for all the plumbing systems in The Blox: from the storm water drainage and sewerage to the complete water system. “Only the dry/wet fire line is outside of our scope in this project,” she said. For the first time, it is working directly for VORM Bouw on this project, which Kersbergen says results in quick coordination, direct communication and an efficient approach. “For example, we are working with Sovent-T pieces from Geberit, which are already being poured in during the structural work. A more efficient working method that is also cost-effective for the contractor.”

As of week 14 of 2026, the finishing phase begins for Installation Company J.C. Kersbergen. “Walls will go up and then the plumbing will be installed. The deployment then grows from one to two shifts, in an eight-day construction cycle. Because we deliver everything on time, monitor the schedule well and perform the work with our own people, quality is guaranteed. All inspection reports and photo registrations are accurately recorded in VORM Bouw's Dalux environment, which ensures transparency and perfect traceability.”
