Panflex is a specialist in flexible smoke extraction systems and ventilation hoses. This company's innovative solutions allow the installer to work more easily and create a healthy environment. An example is the WTW package, which contains all the components needed to install a WTW unit.
All components in the WTW package are already custom-made and fitted with the appropriate finish. They are taped off on one side and can be connected directly. You can cut and tape the other side to size yourself. The ventilation tubes can be mounted with the included stainless steel hose clamps. "The package includes thermally and acoustically insulated hoses. You connect the thermal side to the cold side and the acoustic side to the warm side, where the fresh air enters the house," explains Henry Kale, account manager at Panflex. The acoustically insulated hoses use Ecose insulation wool, a type of glass wool that has been treated in a nature-friendly way and is less irritating than normal glass wool. This ensures high sound attenuation. In addition, the hoses are perforated, which further attenuates sound. Non-woven cloth prevents glass wool particles from entering the home. "The WTW packages can be ordered from wholesalers along with the WTW unit," Kale continues. "That way the installer immediately has all the products he needs. Various diameters can be chosen, from 125 to 200 mm in diameter. This makes the packages suitable for both small and large projects."
The WTW packages are particularly suitable for residential projects. In other buildings, such as schools, central ventilation is often used. To avoid noise pollution, it is then best to choose the Master ISO AKS damper. This attenuates especially low sounds and here the inside is also fitted with Ecose insulation wool, combined with a non-woven inner tube. "Noise from a central plant always resonates in the duct system," says Kale. "With the Master ISO AKS hose and damper, you capture the last bit of sound before the connection to the grille. So you absorb extra sound before the air is blown into the room. For the return side, you can choose an Isosoft Plus hose with an antibacterial coating. If contaminated air flows back into the room, bacteria and mold can enter the room. You prevent that with this hose. No antibacterial layer is needed in the supply area, because that uses pure outside air that is filtered first."
To combat resonating noise, Panflex also has direct solutions. These anti-vibration materials are new to the range and will appear on the market this summer. The range includes vibration dampers, anti-vibration mats, siding, pipe connectors and duct connectors. Kale: "The climate control of a building consists of ventilation, heating and cooling, but sound also plays a very important role. Panflex would also like to contribute to that. We also give advice on air and noise reduction. We are increasingly coming into the picture as a knowledge partner. If we can provide advice early on in a project, it saves costs and time."
