All E-installations (design, engineering and execution) in BOLD will be taken care of by E.T.B. Cas Sombroek. The specialist in electrical engineering and ICT from Volendam thus keeps a grip on the voluminous project, which started in 2019, will be delivered this spring and has a high level of completion. BOLD is comprehensive, says project manager Jaap Tol. "For example, we also include the control lines for the heat pumps and home automation in the luxury apartments."
The work for the E-installations of a high-rise complex with luxury and student apartments, various facilities and commercial spaces is extensive and diverse. Tol: "We do for example, in addition to regular installations and lighting, all access control and camera systems, the fire alarm system, the charging points in the parking garage, the control lines for the heat pumps and the home automation in the luxury apartments. Residents will soon be able to use an app for their smartphone to adjust the lighting and curtains as they wish. Also, the bedrooms will have a central switch with sleep function to control all lighting." BOLD is full of such gadgets.
BOLD is an extremely sustainable building. E- and W-installations are therefore getting more and more common ground and overlap. In addition, the apartment building has several communal facilities with their own technology, such as a gymnasium, a multipurpose room and a laundry room. The construction method - a combination of tunneling, wide slab floors and precast, makes the installation space in the building "quite tight. In the end, the technical aspects of the work are not decisive; logistics and planning are, Tol said. "Especially with restrictive measures, it's challenging, which means you're allowed fewer people on a construction elevator. Every sub- or subcontractor has had to deal with that over the past two years. Then again, with material delivery, we haven't had any problems. If you are close to the main contractor in the organization, it works out well."
