'The top of De Zalmhaven has been reached!'

During the assembly of the façade elements of Holland's tallest residential tower, use is made of a so-called hoist shed, which reached its highest point during the construction vacations: the crown with penthouses, restaurant and technical space. To ensure a spectacular view of the city, Rollecate is realizing a fully transparent element façade on these floors. The aluminum elements with glass filling are lifted up in groups of 8 to 10 on T-brackets. A cabriole position, in which part of the roof of the hoist shed is opened, makes assembly possible on the floors below.

Commissioned by contractor BAM Bouw en Techniek - Grote Projecten, Rollecate also supplied and assembled the aluminum facade frames and balcony facades of the 215-meter-high Salmon Harbor Tower. With the lowering of the hoisting shed starting in mid-September, the corner cladding will also be fitted, at a rate of two floors per day. Additionally, the curtain walls of the office building are being assembled, say sales manager Erik Beekman and project manager Jack Kooijman. By the end of this year, the complete building facade should be ready. "By prefabricating all products together in a conditioned environment, we can guarantee a consistently high quality. An absolute requirement for projects of this size and height. Moreover, to ensure progress of as much as one floor per week, tight planning, control and logistics are essential. All work must be done just-in-time to keep the construction train moving. So far, we have succeeded excellently in this. We look forward to the final leads with confidence."
