Schildersbedrijf Lefering carried out various works for the renovation of exploratory vmbo school UGO in Apeldoorn: the wall finishing, the supply and installation of new interior glazing and the painting of the window frames and doors.
The family business has existed since 1859 and has been passed down from generation to generation. It now employs about 35 people. Schildersbedrijf Lefering paints, wallpapers, glazes and finishes walls for a wide range of clients. From private individuals to contractors, Home Owners Associations and government buildings such as courts. Calculator/work planner Douwe Hoekstra: "Van Norel asked us to quote for this project and then we got the work. It was the first time we had worked together and it went well from both sides."
The school building is large, which provided quite a bit of work for Lefering: more than 150 windows (soundproof and fireproof glazing) were installed, the company painted 4,400 m2 of frame wood and 250 m2 of ceiling coves, and some 4,000 m2 of wall and ceiling areas were provided with wallpaper and sauce work. Finally, 85 steel locker cabinets were also painted on site. A team of three or four people from Lefering walked around the construction site every day. Hoekstra: "What makes this project special for us is that it was the first time we had worked with Van Norel. In addition, renovation projects are always fun because they are a little more challenging than new construction projects. And in this case, many different facets of our work came into play. During the work we encountered quite a few things that we had not anticipated. Because it was renovation, not everything had to be addressed, but in the end we still had to go through the entire school. And the new school year was coming up, so we had to move pretty quickly. Everything went well and we look back on a good collaboration with fine mutual coordination."
