When quality and innovation merge

In January 2020, TBS (Technisch Bureau Soest) - known for traditional reliable drainage systems designed and finished to perfection - and SVA (Struyk Verwo Aqua) - with a price-flexible, innovative and broad product range - joined forces. Moments later, the corona pandemic broke out, but despite this, the merger proved to be a great success.

"Since the merger, we have certainly not been idle," says Willy Bruckers, commercial director at TBS/SVA. "New developments have brought improvements to the current assortment and there has been plenty of work on new products. The cross-pollination has really taken off!"

Launching new products

In the fall, TBS/SVA will launch several new products. "Officially we will present them at the fair, but production is already in full swing," says Bruckers. Among others, he mentions the Vepromax Crossgrip manhole cover: "Developed with two-wheelers in mind, which significantly reduces the risk of slipping on a manhole cover. Furthermore, we have made a maximum improvement in rubbers. I dare say we have the best rubber in the market." These are just harbingers of what TBS/SVA is working on: in 2022 we can certainly expect a number of new product introductions.

Forward

"Furthermore, we like to look at what we can contribute to the issues of heat stress and heavy rainfall. So we developed the Cool City Drain: a gutter that buffers water, has a delayed drain and is planted with plants. This solution is not only aesthetically pleasing, but this mini-ecosystem also has a real cooling effect during hot summers. This way we kill two birds with one stone." Municipalities are responding enthusiastically to the idea. "Furthermore, we are progressive by incorporating recycled raw materials into our products. For example, we supply gullies with the lowest MKI value in the Dutch market."

Reliability, sustainability and innovativeness

TBS/SVA is consulted by major parties in the market, such as Schiphol Airport and Airport Eindhoven. "But also operators of container terminals and even internationally people know how to find us. Thanks to our expert role in applying products in extreme conditions - whether it's heavy loads at ports and airports or challenging climate conditions - based on our years of combined knowledge and experience, we can provide everyone with the right advice," Bruckers concludes.
