Recognizable look for Compaxo

Bessels architects & engineers was engaged by Compaxo for the challenging expansion and optimization of the company. Project leader and partner Cordy Volkers: "Being able to cool carcasses quickly has a significant positive impact on meat quality and hygiene. This is why Compaxo wanted to expand the existing meat processing plant with the construction of a 70-meter-long rapid cooling tunnel."

"From planning and design to permitting and construction supervision, we are involved in the project. We are unburdened in the total project supervision in all phases." Putting the refrigeration process at the center of the design gave Compaxo an optimally designed routing to transport the meat to the blast chiller as quickly as possible after slaughter. The result was an increase in efficiency and quality in both the product and the business process. Volkers: "In fact, we had three projects under our belt in this regard. On the existing and purchased lot, stables, a production part and a cantor part will be realized."

Compaxo has taken on a recognizable look.

The new office with social areas is located on the first floor, from where there is a good view of the front yard. The addition of a walkway allows staff to reach this area safely. Phase 1, the new rapid cooling tunnel, provides a higher quality product. Phase 2 consists of the office with social areas, cold rooms and production space. "We are building on the existing construction and the existing factory is running. So good cooperation is very important."

The entire Compaxo factory has been given a recognizable look. Architect and partner Mandy Doeve: "The building is visible from the highway, so we lifted up the office and clearly gave the whole thing one identity in terms of color scheme and appearance. The unloading of cattle takes place inside and therefore completely out of sight. The building also features a beautiful industrial facade with a vertical grid on top. When passing the office building, this grid creates a dynamic image."
